Established in 1907, YWCA Asheville is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, nurturing children and promoting health. We offer programs and advocate for policy change to end racial disparities and bridge gaps in education, health, childcare and earning power for women and families in our community and beyond. Childcare services include our Early Learning Program, Pay-by-the-Hour Childcare, and Empowerment Childcare. Our Fitness Center offers personal training and group classes, and our Aquatics Program offers swim lessons and water fitness classes in addition to lap and free swim. We offer Women’s Empowerment Programs: Motherlove, a program for pregnant and parenting teens, and Getting Ahead, a financial empowerment program for women. The YWCA serves over 2,500 families/yr.
